    It seems the bishop is genuinely trying to balance pastoral care for all with his own conscience. But having been in TEC for so long and being part of the institution and trying to survive as clergy under the wrath of KJS has clouded his judgment and obscured the clear witness of Scripture. Sadly, the image that came to my mind is of Pilate washing his hands. Kyrie eleison.
